Interested in joining?
The Golden Isles Archaeological Society is always eager to welcome new members. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month from September to May, with other events happening throughout the year. Yearly dues are $20 for individuals, $30 per family or $15 for students.
Benefits of Membership:
Monthly meetings with speakers who provide programs about archaeology and our local history.
Participation in “Learn the Basics About Archaeology” sessions where you will experience how to properly work at a “dig” and identify artifacts
Members-only tours of local historic and archaeological sites, such as Cannon’s Point ruins, Hamilton Plantation slave cabins, and the possible Oglethorpe home site at Fort Frederica
Firsthand knowledge of local archaeological projects and the ability to get involved
Information and participation opportunities about state-level archaeological events through the group’s affiliation with the Society for Georgia Archaeology
