Our History
Our group was founded in 1993, with the express purpose of sharing and encouraging archaeology in the Golden Isles of Georgia. All are welcome.
Our Projects
We assist with excavations and historical events across southeast Georgia. GIAS maintains a strong connection with Fort Frederica National Monument in particular.
Our Leadership
Our group is governed by an executive committee, comprised of GIAS members, and is guided by an archaeology advisory committee comprised of professional archaeologists.
